House is a 2008 film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Frank E. Peretti and Ted Dekker. The film is currently in post-production. It covers the events that take place one night in an old, rustic inn in Alabama, where four guests and three owners find themselves locked in by a homicidical maniac. The maniac claims to have killed God and threatens to murder all seven of them unless they produce the dead body of one of them by dawn.
It was revealed on Ted Dekker's website that the film's release date was pushed back to Fall 2008. It has received a rating of R for some violence and terror. It was later announced the film would be released on November 14 in 450 theaters, but that date has since been moved up to November 7, 2008. Early test screenings have been positive.[1]
A recent update given to members of Ted Dekker's website has stated that Lions Gate Entertainment has purchased this film as well as the production for Ted Dekker's fastest selling novel, Adam.
The makers of the movie are doing something a little different with the music that is going to be played in the movie. The makers have made a deal with Tooth and Nail Records, the record company largely responsible for Christian rock, punk, hardcore, and other such bands and music. Exactly what kind of deal is not yet known, but chances are it will play some rather heavy Christian songs, or possibly just the music, in the movie. Also, there were rumors that some Christian metal songs would be in the ending credits, but the movie ended up containing solely songs by the band Anberlin.
